| Although asthma cannot be cured, with the right information and medical care, it can be controlled. In this section, you will find valuable information about asthma's symptoms, its triggers, and its treatment.
ALA of Kentucky is carrying out its objective to fight asthma in a number of ways. We offer professional medical education programs to help health care providers stay up to date with current diagnosis and treatment guidelines and other newly emerging information. Camp Superkids, our annual week-long summer camp, offers all the fun of a regular camp plus on-site medical care. Our overnight sleep-in camps and regional day camps, which are sponsored and run by community volunteers, are offered at various times throughout the year. 'Open Airways for Schools' reaches young asthmatics in the school setting, and 'A is for Asthma' is designed for day care centers. Through our AsthmAttack! Campaign and support of research, we are working to find better ways to diagnose, treat, and ultimately prevent or cure asthma.
