The American Lung Association
is the only nonprofit charitable health organization dedicated
solely to lung health issues. Now in our 90th year,
we are Kentucky's oldest voluntary nonprofit health organization.
In first bringing together lay volunteers and medical professionals
to fight tuberculosis, we helped lay the foundation for Kentucky's
nonprofit public health system that continues to fight everything
from AIDS to zinc deficiency.
Naturally, we are proud of our success in battling TB. However,
our efforts are more important today than ever before.
Here in Kentucky, we have identified asthma and tobacco control
as two priority program areas. Statewide, the basic strategies
we utilize to address these priorities are education, advocacy
and medical research.
We appreciate your visit to our web site and hope you find it
useful. We hope, too, you will consider supporting our work by
joining our statewide volunteer corps, by becoming a lung health
advocate, by making a tax-deductible donation... or by doing all
three!
